England bounced back with a 3-1 victory over Finland in the Nations League on Sunday night. Following a surprising 2-1 defeat to Greece at home on Thursday, goals from Jack Grealish, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Declan Rice ensured a strong performance in Helsinki.

This marked the third win in four matches for temporary coach Lee Carsley, potentially bolstering his chances of being appointed to the position permanently.

Defeat to Greece after naming an experimental team raised questions about his suitability, and doubts will remain even after this latest win. If not for some poor finishing from No. 64-ranked Finland, it could have been a difficult night for an England team ranked 60 places higher.

Grealish opened the scoring from close range in the 18th minute at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium after being set up by a clever flick from Angel Gomes.

Alexander-Arnold extended England's lead in the 74th minute with a trademark free kick, and Declan Rice added a third ten minutes later, converting from a cross by substitute Ollie Watkins at the near post.

Arttu Hoskonen netted a consolation goal for Finland in the 87th minute.

England currently sit second in Group B2, trailing leader Greece on goal difference, having played one match more.
