Ex-Daily Star executive editor Syed Ashfaqul Haque granted bail

A High Court bench grants bail to Syed Ashfaqul Haque, former executive editor of the Daily Star, in the domestic worker's death case. 

The court of Justice Md. Rezaul Hasan and Justice Fahmida Quader passed this verdict on Tuesday (June 11).

Regarding this matter, Ashfaq's lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan said, "The case of Syed Ashfaqul Haque has been addressed in court. Following the proceedings, the court expressed satisfaction and granted bail to Ashfaq."

However, in its second observation, the court issued a temporary suspension order to Ashfaq from the Daily Star.

Earlier, Tania Khondoker, wife of Syed Ashfaqul Haque, was granted bail in the same case on April 22.
