The detective branch (DB) of police has detained Abul Kalam Azad, former principal secretary at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) additional commissioner (DB) Rezaul Karim Mallik confirmed the matter. Detectives arrested him from the capital's Kalabagan area where he had been staying since the fall of the Awami League government, the DB chief said without providing details.

রাজধানীর কলাবাগান থেকে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কার্যালয়ের (পিএমও) সাবেক মুখ্য সচিব আবুল কালাম আজাদকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে গোয়েন্দা পুলিশ (ডিবি)। শনিবার (৫ অক্টোবর) তাকে গ্রেপ্তারের কথা জানান ঢাকা মেট্রোপলিটন পুলিশের (ডিএমপি) অতিরিক্ত কমিশনার (ডিবি) রেজাউল করিম মল্লিক। বিশদ বিবরণ না দিয়ে ডিবি প্রধান জানান, আওয়ামী লীগ সরকারের পতনের পর থেকে তিনি গোপনে যেখানে অবস্থান করছিলেন, গোয়েন্দারা তাকে সেখান থেকেই গ্রেপ্তার করেছে।
