Ex-state minister Enamur Rahman arrested

Detectives of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested Dr Enamur Rahman, former state minister for disaster management and relief, from the capital’s Bashundhara area on Sunday night.

Confirming the matter, DB Chief Rezaul Karim Mallik said, "Dr Enamur Rahman, the former State Minister, has been arrested following a raid in the Basundhara area of the capital. Multiple cases have been filed against him in connection with the July-August movement. He will be presented in court on Monday, and a remand request will be made."

Enamur Rahman was elected from the Dhaka-19 constituency in both the 10th and 11th National Elections. He held the position of State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief and was also the founding chairman of Enam Medical College and Hospital.
