Extreme heat kills 2 teachers in 2 districts

Two teachers have died in two districts of the country due to the severe heatwave that is blowing during the past few days. Both of them died on Sunday (April 28).

According to family members, a school teacher named Ahsan Habib died in Jashore due to extreme heat. He was an assistant teacher of Ahmedabad Secondary School in Jashore Sadar upazila.

Family members said that Ahsan Habib fell ill after working in the field in the morning. He was rushed to Jashore General Hospital where the doctors on duty declared him dead.

Meanwhile, a madrasa teacher named Maulana Md Mostak Ahmed Qutubi Alkaderi passed away at Kalurghat in Chattogram after fainting due to intense heat.

He fainted due to extreme heat in Kalurghat area while going to his workplace at Khitapchar of Boalkhali in the morning from his home in Chandgaon Mohra area of Chattogram. The doctors declared him dead after he was rushed to the hospital.

Moderate to very intense heat waves continue to sweep over the country. The number of heat-related patients is increasing in every hospital.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has again issued a 72-hour heat alert across the country, predicting that the ongoing heat wave will continue for three more days and the temperature may rise further.

All the educational institutions of the country have been opened with a slight change in the schedule on Sunday amid intense heat.
