Legendary Lalon singer Farida Parveen had a joyful visit to the Views Bangladesh office. Her visit created an excited and festive atmosphere at the office of the country's first bilingual online news portal.

The renowned singer was greeted with flowers at 6.00 pm on Sunday at the Views Bangladesh office in capital's Karwan Bazar by Associate Editor Girish Goiric and News Editor Maria Salam, with other journalists and colleagues from Views Bangladesh also in attendance.

Farida Parveen has been captivating the music lovers of Bangladesh for a long time with her magical voice. Her exceptional skill in Lalon songs and emotional performances have made her an iconic figure in this genre. Although she began her musical journey with Nazrul Geeti, it was her enchanting voice in Lalon songs that earned her fame both in Bangladesh and abroad, making her widely recognized among millions of Bengalis.

She is a legendary artist who has sung numerous Lalon songs, including "Bari'r Kache Arshi Nagar" and "Khachar Vitor Achin Pakhi." Some of her other popular songs among the youth include "Ei Padma, Ei Meghna," "Nindar Kata Jodi Na Bhidhile Gaay," and "Tomra Bhule Gecho Mollikadir Naam."

Two of her songs, "Khachar Vitor Ochin Pakhi" and "Ei Padma Ei Meghna," have earned spots in the BBC Bengali survey of the 20 greatest Bengali songs of all time, ranking 14th and 17th, respectively. This achievement places her among other legendary artists like Mohammad Abdul Jabbar and Shahnaz Rahmatullah.

Farida Parveen said, "I am delighted to be here at the invitation of Views Bangladesh. Through Lalon songs, I aim to convey the inner truth and love of the people."

She also expressed her confidence in the trust Views Bangladesh has gained in a short time, despite the prevailing unhealthy competition, saying, "In spite of the current unhealthy competition, this media outlet has earned the people's trust by providing accurate and reliable news. I hope this trend continues in the future."

Farida Parveen, an Ekushey Padak laureate, was recognized as the Best Singer at the 2008 Fukuoka Asian Cultural Prize in Japan.

The respected artist visited the Views Bangladesh studio and, in appreciation of the journalists present, sang excerpts from some of her iconic songs.
