Faruque loses position as BCB President
Faruque Ahmed has lost his position as the President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
National Sports Council made the announcement through a notice on Thursday night (29 May).
Faruque became a BCB director with the nomination of the National Sports Council (NSC) and was also elected as the president.
According to the BCB constitution, the NSC can cancel their nomination at any time. Following this rule, the NSC has canceled Faruque Ahmed’s nomination.
However, it has not been confirmed yet who will be nominated to replace Faruque Ahmed.
Aminul Islam Bulbul, Bangladesh’s first Test centurion, could be his replacement. Earlier, it was known that eight BCB directors expressed no confidence and sent a letter to the NSC.
Various allegations were made against Faruque, and as a result, the NSC canceled his nomination.
