Fascist ruler forced to flee due to united efforts: Ali Riaz
Professor Ali Riaz, Vice-Chairman of the National Consensus Commission, has commented that the fascist ruler was forced to flee due to the united efforts of the people.
He said these things in a dialogue held with the Ganosanhati Andolan at the LD Hall of the National Parliament on Sunday.
Regarding the proposals of the reform commissions, Ali Riaz said that they are an attempt to deal with the accumulated crisis in Bangladesh for a long time. Just implementing the report of the reform commission is not enough, for this it is necessary to create the structure of a democratic state, practice democracy, and unite democratic forces.
He said that the fascist ruler was forced to flee due to the united efforts of the people against fascism. We have to move forward by maintaining this unity and holding the spirit of unity. This is not only our commitment, it is our responsibility.
He said - Those who gave their lives, fought, those who were injured and killed in the mass uprising last July, and before that, those who fought against all kinds of oppression for the last 16 years, and those who tried to establish a democratic, accountable state, a participatory state for all, and a state that ensures civil rights in Bangladesh for the last 53 years, we have a responsibility to all of them.
Referring to the progress of the dialogue on reforms, he said, we have been able to achieve even a small amount of progress. If we cannot maintain it, if we cannot develop it, all opportunities will be lost. If that does not happen, everyone's efforts will be needed. We are trying to achieve it together. To create a new democratic accountable state not only for us, but for the next generation and the future of Bangladesh.
Professor Ali Riaz believes that it will be possible to quickly create a national charter if everyone agrees.
Ali Riaz mentioned that the Mass Solidarity Movement was involved in the struggle to form a democratic state in Bangladesh from the very beginning, and said that they led and participated in the movement.
The meeting, moderated by Monir Haider, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor, was attended by commission members Safar Raj Hossain, Dr. Badiul Alam Majumder, and Dr. Iftekharuzzaman.
