Police have recovered the body of Mou Rani Das (17), a local female footballer, found hanging in Dirai upazila, Sunamganj. The body was found on Thursday in her room at Bhangadohor village under Tarol union of the upazila. Dirai Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Abdur Razzak confirmed the matter. It is known that Mou was the youngest among her two brothers and two sisters. She was a regular player on the local women’s football team. She had been missing since Thursday morning. After an extensive search, her relatives discovered her hanging by the neck inside the family’s rice storage area. The police were informed afterward. The OC said, "After preparing the initial report, the body was sent to the district hospital morgue for an autopsy."

সুনামগঞ্জের দিরাইয়ে মৌ রানী দাস (১৭) নামে স্থানীয় এক নারী ফুটবলারের ঝুলন্ত মরদেহ উদ্ধার করেছে পুলিশ। বৃহস্পতিবার উপজেলার তাড়ল ইউনিয়নের ভাঙ্গাডহর গ্রামের নিজ ঘর থেকে মরদেহটি উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে। দিরাই থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) মুহাম্মদ আব্দুর রাজ্জাক খবরটির সত্যতা নিশ্চিত করেছেন। জানা গেছে, দুই ভাই ও দুই বোনের মধ্যে সবার ছোট মৌ। সে স্থানীয় নারী ফুটবল দলের নিয়মিত খেলোয়াড়। বৃহস্পতিবার সকাল থেকে তার খোঁজ পাওয়া যাচ্ছিল না। অনেক খোঁজাখুঁজির পর বসতঘরে থাকা ধানের উগারের (কাড়ি) ভেতরে মৌ দাসের গলায় ফাঁস দেয়া ঝুলন্ত মরদেহ দেখতে পায় স্বজনরা। পরে থানা–পুলিশে খবর দেয়া হয়। ওসি বলেন, সুরতহাল প্রতিবেদন প্রস্তুতের পর মরদেহ সদর হাসপাতাল মর্গে পাঠানো হয়েছে।
