Final settlement of Pilkhana murder case soon: Home Minister
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that the final settlement of the Pilkhana murder will be ensured soon.
“A massacre was carried out in Pilkhana. Completing the investigation was a huge and complex task. However, it has been completed,” he said.
The minister made the comments while talking to journalists after laying wreaths on the graves of Pilkhana martyrs at Banani military graveyard on Sunday (February 25) morning.
Addressing the reporters, Kamal said, “You know that the preliminary trial has been completed. Hopefully, the final judgment will be delivered in a few days. It entirely depends on the judicial proceedings.”
In reply to a query over whether the relatives of the killed army officers will be able to see the end of the trial at all, he said, “I am also in favour of completing the trial proceedings as soon as possible. Whatever happens, let justice be served quickly. But only the judges know when it will end.”
He also said, “The decision of the court is final. Our courts are now independent, so we expect a fair trial.”
