Fire at Uttara restaurant under control

The fire at Loveleen restaurant at Uttara in the capital has been brought under control.

The fire service was able to bring the fire under control around 2 pm on Friday (December 20).

Fire Service Media Cell Officer Anwarul Islam Dolan confirmed the matter and said that 14 units from five fire service stations worked to douse the fire.

Anwarul Islam, warehouse inspector of the media cell of the Fire Service and Civil Defense (FSCD) headquarters, said that the fire broke out at the Loveleen restaurant around 9:45am. So far 7 people have been rescued alive from the building.

Alam Hossain, an official at Uttara Fire Service Station, said the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are yet to be confirmed.
