A fire has gutted at least 14 shops at Shamsuddin Sarkar kitchen market in Bhogra Bypass area of Gazipur city. Mohammad Mamun, Deputy Assistant Director of Gazipur Fire Service, said the fire broke out at the kitchen market at around 8am. Upon receiving the news, three units from Gazipur Chaurasta Modern Fire Station, arrived and managed to control the fire within half an hour. He also added that the exact cause of the fire and the extent of the damages could not be known immediately.

গাজীপুরের ভোগড়া বাইপাস এলাকায় কাঁচামালের বাজারে লাগা আগুনে ১৪টি দোকান পুড়ে ছাই হয়ে গেছে। বুধবার (২৯ জানুয়ারি) সকাল ৮টার দিকে ভোগড়া বাইপাস এলাকার শামসুদ্দিন সরকারের রান্নাঘরের বাজারে এ ঘটনা ঘটে। অগ্নিকাণ্ডের সঠিক কারণ এবং ক্ষয়ক্ষতির পরিমাণ তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে জানা যায়নি বলে জানান গাজীপুরের ফায়ার সার্ভিসের উপসহকারী পরিচালক মোহাম্মদ মামুন। তিনি আরও জানান, আজ সকাল ৮টার দিকে রান্নাঘরের বাজারে আগুন লাগে। খবর পেয়ে গাজীপুর চৌরাস্তা আধুনিক ফায়ার স্টেশন থেকে তিনটি ইউনিট ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছে আধা ঘণ্টার মধ্যে আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে আনতে সক্ষম হয়।&nbsp;আগুনে ৪০০টি দোকানের মধ্যে ১৪টি পুড়ে ছাই হয়ে যায়।
