Flight operations halted at Ctg, Barishal Airports
Flight operations at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram and Barishal have been temporarily suspended, due to Cyclone Remal.
The decision comes in response to the issuance of danger signal no. 9 by the Meteorological Department, prompting authorities to prioritize the safety of passengers and personnel.
Chattogram Airport Director, Group Captain Taslim Ahmed, said that initially, the suspension will last from 12 noon to 8 pm on Sunday, as announced by the airport authorities.
Authorities are on alert, he added.
Meanwhile, Sirajul Islam, the manager of Barishal Airport, said there was a flight scheduled from Barishal on Sunday, which has been cancelled due to the weather.
Earlier, flight operations at Kolkata and Cox's Bazar airports were suspended.
