Foreign minister congratulates NDA alliance

Foreign Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud has congratulated the NDA alliance of India for winning the Lok Sabha elections.

Congratulating the people of India for contributing to democratic practices, he said, “India's democracy is an example for the whole world.”

He made the comments while talking to reporters at the ministry on Wednesday (June 5) morning.

The foreign minister said, “We are bound by blood ties with India. Bangladesh’s relationship with India cannot be compared with any other country.”

Mahmud said, “The depth of relationship between the two neighbouring countries will reach multi-dimensionality during this term of NDA government. China is also Bangladesh's development partner, but the relationship with India is in a unique position.”

The foreign minister also congratulated the INDIA alliance led by the Congress.

He said that the opposition party will play an effective role in the parliament. If the opposition party of Bangladesh also plays a role in the parliament, the democratic practice would be stronger.
