Former IGP among 10 others appear before ICT
A former Inspector General of Police (IGP), ex-NTMC director general, and eight other officials were presented before the International Crimes Tribunal this morning on charges related to the July massacre.
The accused were brought in two separate prison vans from Kashimpur Central Jail and Keraniganj Central Jail on Thursday (February 20).
The tribunal had previously granted the prosecution's application on October 27, ordering their presentation on February 20.
Among those produced were former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, former NTMC Director General Major General (retd) Ziaul Ahsan, former Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Mirpur Division Jasim Uddin Molla, dismissed Additional Superintendent of Police Abdullahil Kafi, former Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Shahidul Islam, and former Officers-in-Charge Abul Hasan (Jatrabari Police Station) and Md. Mazharul Haque (Gulshan Police Station).
Additionally, two former RAB officers, Superintendent of Police Mohiuddin Farooqui and Additional Superintendent of Police Alep Uddin, were also produced before the tribunal.
