Gas reserves found 4 levels of well in Noakhali
After drilling a gas well at Sonaimuri upazila in Noakhali, Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production Company Limited (BAPEX) has found gas reserves in four levels of the well.
Md Asaduzzaman, Begumganj-4 (West) Evaluation and Development Well Digging Officer, said that this well, situated at Washekpur village under Ambarnagar union of the upazila, was set on fire on Monday (August 12).
He said the digging of the well was officially inaugurated on April 29. Completing the drilling ahead of schedule, each level of the well will now be tested to confirm the gas reserves.
He hopes that BAPEX will be able to inform good news to the nation after the testing all levels of the well.
However, BAPEX expects to initially extract 10 million cubic feet of gas per day from each of the four levels of the well and connect it to the national grid through Bakhrabad.
