Gazipur Gas Cylinder Blast: Death toll reaches 16

Another person died due to burns in gas cylinder explosion incident in Gazipur. The deceased is identified as Lalon (24). With this, the death toll stood at 16.

Tariqul Islam, the resident surgeon of the burn institute, said that 24-year-old Lalon, who suffered 45 percent burns, breathed his last at about 3:20am on Sunday.

Earlier on March 13, at least 35 people were injured as a cooking gas cylinder exploded at a worker's colony next to Top Star Garment Factory in the Telir Chala area.

According to the source, the knob of a gas cylinder got opened while it was being connected to a stove in a house, causing the gas leak.
