Govt fixes price of fuel oil for April

In line with the global market, fuel oil prices have been adjusted for the second month also.

According to a notification issued by Energy Division today (Sunday), the government has fixed the price of fuel oil for April.

The selling price of diesel has been reduced by Tk 2.25 per litre, from Tk 108.25 to Tk 106, kerosene has been reduced by Tk 2.25 per litre, from Tk 108.25 to Tk 106. Apart from this, the price of octane has been kept unchanged at Tk 126 per liter and petrol at Tk 122. The revised price will be effective from April 1.

The Energy Division said that a comparative figure shows that diesel is currently being sold at Rs 90.76 or Tk 130.69 per litre (Rs 1 = Tk 1.44) and petrol at Rs 109.94 or Tk 158.31 per litre in neighbouring Indian city of Kolkata. The prices are more than Bangladesh.
