Hajj flights to begin Tuesday
The Hajj flight is starting next Tuesday (April 29). This year, a total of 87,100 Bangladeshis will travel from Dhaka to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj under government and private management.
According to the Office of the Adviser on Religious Affairs, the first flight will be officially inaugurated by the interim government's Religious Affairs Adviser AFM Khalid Hossain. The first group of 419 pilgrims will leave for Saudi Arabia from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 2:15 am that day.
To ensure smooth and uninterrupted Hajj management, 112 government guides and 1,743 private guides will provide overall support to the pilgrims. In addition, 70 guides will provide various directions to the pilgrims.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Saudia and Nas Airlines are ready to transport the pilgrims. Hajj flights will continue until May 31. The return Hajj flight will start on June 10 and end on July 10.
This year, Biman Bangladesh Airlines will operate 118 Hajj flights, Saudia 80 and Nas Airlines 34.
One of the most important rituals of Hajj is the Hajj sermon at Arafat. This sermon will be delivered from the Namira Mosque on 9th Zilhajj (5th June 2025, subject to moon sighting). As always, this sermon will be broadcast live to different countries around the world. As a special initiative, the sermon will be instantly translated into 20 different languages, including Bengali.
