In an Israeli airstrike on the Gaza Strip, top Hamas leader Salah al-Bardaweel and his wife were killed. The incident was reported by Al Jazeera on Sunday, March 23.

The couple died when their tent in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis was destroyed in the attack. The death of Salah al-Bardaweel, a member of Hamas's political bureau, is seen as a significant loss to the Palestinian resistance movement.

Earlier, four people were killed in an Israeli strike on a house in Khan Younis. Over the past few hours, the Israeli military has launched extensive airstrikes across the Gaza Valley, primarily targeting the southern region.

Al Jazeera reporter Tareq Abu Azoum reported that Israeli drones continue to operate over central Gaza. He stated, "The situation here remains critical. As I speak, I can still hear and see Israeli drones flying overhead."

Israel recently broke a ceasefire and intensified its attacks on Gaza. Densely populated areas, hospitals, schools, and mosques have been targeted, escalating the conflict in the region.

However, despite Israeli forces advancing into Rafah in the south and Beit Hanoun in the north, and partially controlling the Netzarim Corridor, no direct clashes between Israeli troops and Hamas fighters have been reported, according to Al Jazeera.

The ongoing attacks have caused severe suffering for Palestinian civilians, with the situation in Gaza becoming increasingly dire.
