Hamza's farewell message: 'InshaAllah, I will return in June'
Hamza Choudhury has departed for England, sparking excitement among football fans in Bangladesh. He took a flight with Bangladesh Airlines this morning to join the English club Sheffield United.
According to sources from the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), Hamza took a flight from Dhaka to Sylhet at 9:45am. After that, he took the same flight from Sylhet to Manchester at 11:45am.
Hamza arrived in Bangladesh on March 17, and since then, there has been an unmatched wave of excitement in the country's football scene. On March 17 and 18, he was warmly received with grand celebrations in Dhaka. On the evening of March 18, he joined the Bangladesh national team camp, and after a day of training in Dhaka, he flew to Shillong to play against India.
On March 25, Hamza made his debut for Bangladesh in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers against India in Shillong, a match that ended in a goalless draw. He returned to Dhaka the following Wednesday.
Before departing for England, Hamza Chowdhury recorded a video message, stating, "InshaAllah, I will return in June, and I will meet everyone."
On June 10, Bangladesh will play against Singapore in the Asian Cup qualifiers in Dhaka, and Hamza is expected to be back to represent Bangladesh in that match.
