Harun Or Rashid takes charge as RAB DG

Additional IGP Barrister Harun or Rashid has taken charge as the tenth Director General (DG) of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Wednesday (June 5).

His appointment was announced in a Home Ministry notification on May 29, says a press release.

He replaced the previous DG M Khurshid Hossain.

Harun hailed from Mollakandi village at Baluchar union under Sirajdikhan upazila in Munshiganj. He was working as Additional IGP (Human Resource Management) at Police Headquarters.

He started his career as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in 15th BCS Police Cadre in 1995. He has served in various positions. He became DIG of Mymensingh Range in December 2019 while serving as DIG (logistics) at Police Headquarters.
