Hasnat Abdullah calls for reduction of govt job application fees
Hasnat Abdullah, a coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement, has urged the government to reduce job application fees.
Abdullah shared his concerns about the current fees in a post on his verified Facebook account on Tuesday evening (October 15).
In his post, Abdullah said, "Take immediate action to reduce job application fees. The application fee for most 9th grade government jobs is TK 669, while fees for positions in various power companies range from TK 1,000 to TK 1,500 for Assistant Manager post. These fees are a burden on the unemployed."
Abdullah proposed capping the application fee at Tk 200, stating that any amount above this is unjustifiable.
