The High Court (HC) felt embarrassed to hear the anticipatory bail plea of advocate Nahid Sultana Juthi, the chief accused in the case filed over the scuffle at the Supreme Court (SC) recently centring the counting of votes of Supreme Court Bar Association election.

Juthi, wife of Jubo League Chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parsh, was an independent secretary candidate in the election.

The HC bench of Justice Mohammad Salim and Justice Sahed Nuruddin expressed their embarrassment to hear when her anticipatory bail plea was presented for hearing on Monday, said SC lawyer Advocate Sheikh Awsafur Rahman Bulu.

He told the Views Bangladesh, "The High Court did not accept the anticipatory bail plea. The plea was returned as one of the judges was embarrassed to hear the plea. We applied for the bail of four people.”

Apart from Juthi, Advocate Shakila Raushan, and Barrister Chowdhury Moushumi Fatema, other accused in the case, applied for bail.

Advocate Juthi is the number one accused in the case filed with Shahbag police station in connection with the ruckus and scuffles over the counting of votes in the elections of the Supreme Court Bar Association for 2024-25 term.
