HC halts release of DU bussines studies unit admission test results
High Court has adjourned the release of results for Dhaka University's (DU) Business Education (formerly known as C) Unit admission test.
This decision came after a hearing on Wednesday, March 19, where a petition filed by a student was considered. The bench, led by Justice Fatema Najib and Justice Shikdar Mahmudur Razee, issued the order, which was confirmed by DU lawyer Mohammad Shishir Monir.
The controversial admission test was held on February 8, 2025. Following the exam, one candidate raised concerns about "multiple errors" in the question paper and formally requested a re-examination.
The student submitted a petition to the Vice-Chancellor, but no response was received. Frustrated by the inaction, the student took the matter to the High Court, filing a writ petition. The petition specifically questioned the authorities’ failure to act on the request for exam cancellation due to the errors.
In addition, the student’s legal team requested the court to direct the authorities to address the petition made on February 20, and sought a stay on any further steps until the resolution of the matter. The court's intervention has brought the release of the exam results to a temporary standstill, with the case now pending further developments.
