Heatwave: Met Office issues 72-hour nationwide heat alert again
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a 72-hour nationwide heat alert again on Monday (April 22).
"The ongoing heatwave over the country may continue for the next 72 hours from today (April 22)," said a warning from the BMD, signed by Meteorologist Md Bazlur Rashid.
According to the Meteorological Office, discomfort may increase due to excess water vapor during this time.
Meteorologist Md Bazlur Rashid said, "The heat's intensity will slightly diminish as some clouds are expected to appear in the country's sky. However, temperatures are forecasted to rise again from tomorrow (Tuesday)."
Earlier, the Meteorological Office had issued a 72-hour heatwave warning in the initial phase starting from last Friday (April 19).
