High Court orders to open ‘Sanvee’s by Tony ’ showroom

The High Court (HC) has ordered to open famous woman entrepreneur Rubaiyat Fatima Tony’s showroom ‘Sanvee’s by Tony’ at Gulshan in the capital.

An HC bench of Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam and Justice SM Masud Hossain passed the order on Monday (June 10).

However, the court said that Pakistani clothes cannot be sold in the showroom.

Lawyers Md Khalequzzaman and Rabiul Alam Budu moved on behalf of Tony during the hearing while Deputy Attorney General Tushar Kanti Roy, Assistant Attorney General Salim Azad and Anich Ul Mawa represented the state.

Rubaiyat Fatima Tony said, “I got justice in the court. My showroom was closed illegally. Even after being fined, closing the showroom was just a harassment.”

On May 27, the High Court issued a rule seeking to know why the sealing of the showroom of Tony at Gulshan would not be declared illegal.

Then the final hearing on this rule ended on June 6. At the same time, Monday was fixed for the order in this regard.
