Housewife's body found hanging in Hazaribagh

Police have recovered the hanging body of a housewife named Suimaya Akhter Sumi (27) from a house in Badda Nagar area of ​​Hazaribagh in the capital.

She was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) unconscious around 8 am on Wednesday (January 29) and declared dead by the doctor in charge of the emergency department after examination.

Sumaiya is the daughter of Ali Hossain of Srinagar police station in Munshiganj. She was currently living with her husband in Baddanagar in Hazaribagh on rent.

The deceased's uncle, Sumon Mia, said that Sumaiya married yogurt trader Zubair Hossain Sohag about six years ago with the consent of the family. They have a six-month-old daughter and a five-year-old son. Sumaiya fell asleep after eating with her family last night. She was not angry or arrogant with her husband. This morning, Sumaiya locked her husband and children in a room went to the next room and hung herself from the fan with a veil around her neck. Later, when she came to know about the matter, she was quickly taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the doctor declared her dead.

Hazaribagh Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Sourav Saha said, "We received information this morning and recovered the housewife hanging from the fan with a veil around her neck from her house at 38 Baddanagar, Hazaribagh." Later, she was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in an unconscious state, where the doctor declared her dead.

The SI also said that after talking to the relatives of the deceased, the reason for hanging was not known. However, the body has been kept at the Dhaka Medical College Morgue for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Legal proceedings are underway in this regard.
