Huawei celebrates International Women’s Day
On International Women’s Day, Huawei organized a health awareness workshop for female employees.
The workshop was organized at Huawei South Asia Representative Office in Dhaka.
This special initiative highlights Huawei’s commitment to ensuring employee wellness and an inclusive workplace.
The workshop aimed to provide counseling to female employees on urinary health. The counseling focused on urinary tract infection (UTI), which is a common problem among women. Dr. Sarkar Kamrun Jahan Jhinuk of United Hospital discussed the risk factors, preventive measures, and treatment options for this problem.
She said: “Urinary tract infections can be prevented by changing some simple lifestyle habits. Drinking plenty of water, maintaining personal hygiene, and avoiding tight clothing can reduce the chances of UTIs by increasing humidity and bacteria."
Huawei’s HR Director Linxiao inaugurated the workshop, the press release said. Other Huawei officials were present.
Linxiao said: "At Huawei, we prioritize performance. Whether an employee is male or female, we judge him/her based on his/her responsibility and efficiency. We have seen that both men and women are capable of working efficiently. We also pay attention to the well-being of Huawei employees."
"That is why we have OPD and IPD insurance benefits for our employees. We organize regular health awareness workshops for employees. This workshop highlights our commitment to ensuring the well-being of women employees."
Huawei believes in inclusion and empowerment, the statement said. The company ensures a healthy working environment through initiatives such as monthly testing of air, water, and food quality in the workplace. In addition, regular fire drills are organized in accordance with Huawei's environmental, health, and safety policies.
