Bangabir Kader Siddique Bir Uttam, president of the Krishak Sramik Janata League, said, "For the past 25 years, I never uttered the words 'Joy Bangla'. But today, swearing at my mother’s grave, I pledge that from now on, I will say 'Joy Bangla'. 'Joy Bangla' will belong to all of us."

He said, "Joy Bangla is not a slogan for any party, individual, or group; it is a slogan of independence. As long as Bangladesh exists, 'Joy Bangla' will remain." He also condemned the arrest of several people who chanted 'Joy Bangla' at the National Memorial on Independence Day (March 26).

Kader Siddique made these comments on Friday (April 4) evening while addressing a Milad Mahfil in his mother's village, Chhatihati in Kalihati upazila, Tangail, on the occasion of her 21st death anniversary.

He said, "I salute the leaders who have brought about a revolution today. If they had acted correctly, people would have remembered them for many years. They have questioned the independence. They don’t recognize figures like Bangabandhu, Ziaur Rahman, or anyone from our history. This is not good. In the 1971 Liberation War, Allah gave us victory. If Bangladesh wasn’t independent, all these buildings, houses, roads, and infrastructure wouldn’t exist. On August 5, the fall of the Hasina government happened. Some think the independence has fallen. But no, absolutely not."
