IDEA seeks participatory elections in Bangladesh

The International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA) seeks participatory elections in the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election in Bangladesh.

On Sunday (April 27), after meeting with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A. M. M. Nasir Uddin at the Election Commission building in Agargaon, Dhaka, Lina Rikkila Tamang, Regional Director for Asia-Pacific at IDEA, shared this with the media.

Lina Rikkila Tamang mentioned that discussions were held with the CEC regarding preparations for the upcoming election, and the CEC also provided updates on the progress of the electoral reforms.

She added, "Through the united efforts of the public, the fascist rulers have been forced to flee. The current commission's responsibility is to organize elections in line with people's expectations, which will lead to the restoration of democracy in the country."
