India triumph in nail-biting clash against Pakistan
In the 19th month of the ongoing T20 World Cup held on Sunday, Pakistan faced a defeat by 6 runs against their arch-rivals India, chasing a target of 120 runs.
Despite the modest target, there was anticipation that Babar Azam's team would secure a comfortable victory. However, this proved otherwise. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Hardik Pandya presented formidable challenges, making Pakistan's task difficult. With Pakistan losing 7 wickets within the 20 overs, tallying 113 runs, their aspirations of advancing to the next round of the World Cup have waned following a narrow 6-run defeat.
Bumrah claimed three crucial wickets for India, conceding just 15 runs in his four overs. He also clinched the Man of the Match award. Mohammad Rizwan emerged as the top scorer for Pakistan, registering 31 runs from 44 balls as a wicketkeeper-batsman. However, none of the other Pakistani batsmen managed to surpass the 20-run score.
Pakistan suffered a dramatic loss to the United States in the first match, decided by a thrilling Super Over. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma's team has made significant progress towards the Super Eight stage with two consecutive wins.
