Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, chief of Indian air force, arrived in Dhaka on Monday (February 26) for a three-day visit at the invitation of his Bangladeshi counterpart Air Marshal Shaikh Abdul Hannan, the chief of air staff of Bangladesh Air Force.
The Indian air force chief is accompanied by a three-member delegation, says a press release sent to media by the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.
He is scheduled to pay courtesy calls on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and all three service chiefs.
He will also meet other senior officers from the Bangladesh Armed Forces.
He will visit major BAF air bases, and pay tribute to the members of the Bangladesh Armed Forces, who sacrificed their lives during the Liberation War of 1971, placing a wreath at the altar of Shikha Anirban in Dhaka Cantonment.
The visit of the Indian air force chief is expected to further strengthen the close and friendly ties existing between the armed forces of the two countries, reads the press release.
