Indian High Commission hosts iftar party
The Indian High Commission in Dhaka hosted an iftar party on Tuesday (March 19), participated by 400 guests from different strata of society including representatives of government, parliament, judiciary, political parties, armed forces, and civil society.
Besides, academics, businessmen, media, cultural personalities were also present at the event.
Speaker of the National Parliament Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury was the chief guest at the event while Minister of Religious Affairs Md Faridul Haque Khan was the guest of honour.
In his welcome address, Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Pranay Verma highlighted the significance of Iftar in promoting the spirit of brotherhood and humanity. He paid special importance to the deep bond of friendship and cooperation between India and Bangladesh.
