Investigation report against Sheikh Hasina at prosecution: Tajul

The investigation agency has submitted the draft investigation report of the July genocide case against Sheikh Hasina to the prosecution of the International Crimes Tribunal, Chief Prosecutor Tajul Islam said.

He informed this to the media on Wednesday (April 2).

Tajul Islam said, "The investigation report contains a lot of evidence and data against Sheikh Hasina as the person who ordered the genocide. Sheikh Hasina confirmed it by ordering the shooting, sometimes directly, sometimes by telephone, and through various means. She also gave clear orders to shoot from a helicopter. In the language of the law, Sheikh Hasina has the superior command responsibility for this genocide."

He said the draft report is now in the hands of the prosecution. The report has revealed innumerable evidence of carrying out the genocide using the state machinery. The final report will be submitted to the tribunal soon.

On October 17, the International Crimes Tribunal issued arrest warrants against 46 people, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, on charges of genocide and attempting to suppress the Anti-discrimination Student Movement.
