The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 has been suspended indefinitely due to growing security concerns following the military conflict between India and Pakistan.

The decision came after the Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals match in Dharamsala was canceled for safety reasons. Dharamsala is located less than 100 kilometers from Pathankot, where air raid sirens were sounded, prompting the BCCI to act.

A BCCI source on Friday told Hindustan Times, "We have decided to suspend the IPL indefinitely. The safety of players is our top priority. So, we have stopped the tournament for now. A decision on whether it will resume will be made later. At this moment, the national interest comes first."

Meanwhile, the remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) have been moved to the United Arab Emirates. On Thursday (8 May), India carried out a drone attack on Rawalpindi Stadium in Lahore, damaging the stadium complex. The incident created panic among players. Following an emergency meeting, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to relocate the remaining matches to the UAE.

According to sources, players have already started flying to the UAE. Eight PSL matches are left, but the PCB has not yet confirmed the exact venues or schedule. Two Bangladeshi cricketers — Rishad Hossain and Nahid Rana — are participating in the PSL. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is trying to bring them back home safely.
