Ipswich stun Chelsea, Man Utd lose again in EPL
In the English Premier League, Ipswich Town, currently at the bottom of the points table, shocked everyone with a 2-0 victory over Chelsea. This was Ipswich's first home win against Chelsea in 22 years. Meanwhile, Manchester United also faced a 2-0 defeat against Newcastle United last night. This marks Newcastle's fourth consecutive win, taking them to 32 points and into the top five of the table.
Meanwhile, Manchester United is in 14th place with 22 points, while Chelsea dropped to fourth with 35 points after their loss. Ipswich Town climbed to 18th place with 15 points. Liverpool ended the year at the top of the table with 45 points. Defending champions Manchester City, despite winning their last match of the year, remain in sixth place with 32 points. Their coach, Pep Guardiola, has conceded that winning the league title this season is no longer a realistic goal.
Manchester United has now suffered three consecutive losses in the Premier League, and their primary focus is on avoiding relegation. Coach Ruben Amouri acknowledged that relegation is a real possibility. If the club is relegated this season, it will mark their sixth relegation in history, with the last one occurring in the 1973-74 season. Additionally, Manchester United has set some unfortunate records, including six losses in December, the most in a month since September 1930, when they lost seven matches.
