Over the past 24 hours, ongoing Israeli attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip have claimed the lives of more than 60 Palestinians and left 152 others injured. As a result, the total death toll in Gaza has now surpassed 51,355, while the number of injured has reached 117,248.

According to Al Jazeera, Israeli airstrikes began early Thursday (April 24) and continued through the night. The strikes resumed again early Friday morning, causing the death toll to keep rising.

Citing Palestinian Civil Defense and medical sources, the report mentioned that 12 members of the same family were killed in northern Gaza’s Jabalia area.

Gaza’s Health Ministry said, “In the last 24 hours, 152 injured people have been taken to various hospitals. However, many others remain trapped under the rubble or on the roads, and rescue teams are unable to reach them.”

According to a separate report by the Anadolu news agency, a total of 51,355 people have been killed in Gaza since Israel launched its large-scale military assault in October 2023.

After 15 months of military operations, Israel agreed to a ceasefire on January 19 under pressure from the United States and the international community. While the region remained relatively calm for about two months, airstrikes resumed on March 18 due to disagreements between Israel and Hamas over troop withdrawal.

According to the Health Ministry, from March 18 until now, 1,391 people have been newly killed, and 3,434 injured. These attacks have violated the ceasefire agreement that came into effect in January this year.

The United Nations reports that 85% of Gaza’s population has been displaced, and 60% of the region’s infrastructure has been either damaged or destroyed by Israeli attacks. As a result, civilians—particularly women and children—are enduring a deepening humanitarian crisis.

Experts warn that the situation continues to deteriorate due to the international community’s silence and lack of decisive action. With critical shortages of food, clean water, medicine, and healthcare services, the number of casualties continues to rise each day.

In response, several international human rights organizations have urged the immediate enforcement of the ceasefire and the swift delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
