Janata Party Bangladesh expresses concern over India-Pakistan situation

Expressing deep concern over the ongoing war situation between India and Pakistan, Janata Party Bangladesh has said that it does not support the state of war created between the two neighbouring countries.

In a joint statement on Wednesday (May 7), Janata Party Bangladesh Chairman Ilias Kanchan, Executive Chairman Golam Sarwar Milon, and Secretary General Shawkat Mahmood expressed this concern.

In the statement, they said that rising tensions between these two major South Asian nations could pose a threat to the peace and stability of the entire region.

The party stated that the emergence of a warlike situation or armed conflict is disastrous and undesirable for the region, and called on both countries to withdraw from such a scenario.

They said that the people of Bangladesh have always supported peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and diplomatic solutions.

Janata Party Bangladesh urged both India and Pakistan to immediately engage in dialogue to de-escalate tensions, show patience and restraint, and refrain from any provocative actions.

In the statement, the leaders said that Janata Party Bangladesh believes the overall welfare of the region’s people can only be ensured through peace, cooperation, and regional stability.
