JCD President Rakib not well; General Secretary debunks dismissal rumours

Rakibul Islam Rakib, President of the Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Chatra Dal (JCD), has fallen ill with cold and fever after participating in several organizational programs held in the rain over the past few days. Due to his illness, Rakib was unable to attend any programs on Friday.

In response to widespread rumours circulating on social media about his dismissal, JCD General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir issued a clarification today. He described the rumours as “baseless” and “deliberate propaganda.”

“As a result of his illness, Rakib could not participate in any programs today. I wish him a speedy recovery,” Nasir wrote on his Facebook profile.

Nasir strongly refuted claims that Abu Afsan Mohammad Yahya, JCD Central Senior Vice President, had been appointed as acting president, emphasizing that these stories were intentionally misleading.

He urged all members and the public to avoid spreading such false rumours and to respect the privacy and health of the president.
