Joty makes history for Bangladesh with 2000 Women's T20I runs
Nigar Sultana Joty became the first Bangladeshi batter to score 2000 runs in Women’s T20Is.
The youngster achieved the landmark in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 group stage match against Hayley Matthews’ West Indies at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
The 27-year-old Joty needed 23 runs, and she got there with the utmost ease. The other Bangladeshi batters to have reached the landmark are Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah Riyad, who both have retired from Men’s T20Is.
