Keari Crescent Tower shut for lack of fire safety, 3 held

The authorities of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has sealed off the 11-storied Keari Crescent Tower in Jigatola because of not having fire safety measures.

Three people have been detained in this connection and their companies were also fined Tk3 lakh.

DSCC Executive Magistrate Md Jahangir Alam said the DSCC team shut down the building, which houses a number of restaurants, as it has inadequate fire safety measures.

Similar raids are ongoing at Gulshan, Basundhara area, reports media.

The drives come in the aftermath of the tragic fire incident in a commercial building that housed multiple restaurants at Bailey Road, killing 46 people.
