Large consignment of mobile phones seized at Shah Amanat airport

A consignment of mobile phones worth Tk 18.30 lakh has been seized from an abandoned trolley bag at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram during a raid inside the aircraft.

The mobile phones were found on Biman Bangladesh Airlines BG-152 flight from Sharjah on Sunday (January 26) at 10 am.

Shah Amanat International Airport Public Relations Officer Engineer Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil said that 95 mobile phones (49 Samsung brand smart phones and 46 Nokia brand button phones) were recovered from an abandoned trolley bag without passengers in the joint operation.

He said that the recovered goods have been handed over to the airport customs.

49 smart phones worth Tk 35,000 each, totaling Tk 17,15,000. 46 button phones worth Tk 2,500,000 each, totaling Tk 11,15,000.
