Legendary singer Hasina Momtaz passes away

Legendary singer Hasina Momtaz has passed away at the age of 79.

She breathed her last at her residence in Dhanmondi around 6:30pm on Sunday (February 18).

Lyricist Safat Khayyam confirmed the death of the singer to the media.

Lyricist Safat said Hasina Mumtaz was a very philanthropic person. The Bengali music world lost a star in her death. My deepest condolences to her family.

It is known that singer Hasina Momtaz has been suffering from various complications related to old age for a long time.

On Monday, (February 19) after Johar, her Namaz-e-Janazaw was held at Dhanmondi Eidgaon ground.

The song 'Tandrahara Nayan Amar' sung in her melodious voice is hugely popular. The singer has been awarded numerous awards for her special contribution to music in her long career.
