Letter sent to issue red notice against 10 people

The Office of the Chief Prosecutor of the Tribunal has sent a letter to issue red notices through Interpol against 10 people, including former ministers Obaidul Quader, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and Hasan Mahmud, who are absconding in the July-August genocide case.

Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam told reporters on Thursday.

The other accused are former minister AKM Mozammel Haque, former mayor Barrister Fazle Nur Taposh, former ministers Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, Ali Arafat, Nasrul Hamid Bipu and former Prime Minister's Defense Advisor Tarek Ahmed Siddiqui.

Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam said, 'A letter has been sent to the IGP to issue red notices against 10 people through Interpol.' He said, 'Arrest warrants have been issued against a total of 141 people in 22 cases related to the July-August massacre. Of these, 54 accused have been arrested, while 87 are absconding.'

Regarding the statistics of the cases in the tribunal, it was said that a total of 339 complaints have been filed. Of these, arrest warrants have been issued against 141 people in 22 missed cases. A total of 39 cases are under investigation.
