Lightning kills 4 in Cumilla

Four people were killed by lightning in four upazilas of Cumilla on Thursday (May 2), from the afternoon to the evening.

A farmer named Mokhlesh Mia (58) was killed by lightning at 5:00pm at Dhamti village under Dhamti union in Devidwar upazila in the district. The deceased is the son of the late Sona Mia.

Md Alam Hossain, son of Quddus Mia, hailed from Panchora Noapara village of Rajapur union at Burichong Upazila, was killed by lightning while harvesting paddy in the field at 5:00pm.

A farmer named Daultur Rahman (47) died due to lightning in Chandina upazila. The incident took place at Kishmat-Shrimantapur village at Barkit union of the upazila at 5:00pm.

A person named Atiqul Islam (50) was killed by lightning in North Suryanagar village at Dakshin Guliya Union in Cumilla Sadar upazila.
