Litton’s century nominated for Test Innings of the Year
Litton Kumar Das faced challenges in white-ball cricket last year, even losing his place in the team. However, in red-ball cricket, he excelled, and his performance has been recognized as popular cricket website ESPNcricinfo shortlisted one of his centuries for the 2024 Test Innings of the Year.
The shortlist includes Litton alongside England’s Ollie Pope, India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal, Australia’s Travis Head, and England’s Harry Brook.
Bangladesh secured their first-ever Test and series victory against Pakistan in Rawalpindi last year. In the second Test, Litton rescued the team from 26/6 with a brilliant 138 off 228 balls, forming a crucial 165-run partnership with Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Bangladesh eventually won by 6 wickets.
Litton’s innings is competing against Pope’s 196 against India, Jaiswal’s 209 against England, Brook’s 317 against Pakistan, and Head’s 130 against India.
