The fisheries and livestock ministry has started selling beef, chicken and eggs at different parts of the capital from Sunday (March 10).
Earlier on March 4, Fisheries and Livestock Minister Md Abdur Rahman at a press briefing announced that beef would be sold at Tk 600 per kg from the ministry’s mobile trucks at 30 places in the capital on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
“Beef will be sold at Tk 600 per kg, goat meat at Tk 900 per kg, dressed broiler chicken at Tk 280 and eggs at Tk 10.50 per piece,” he said at that time.
Md Abdur Rahman said, “We will strictly control the market in Ramadan. The sales of essential food items from the ministry’s mobile trucks will help regulate the market during Ramadan.”
He also said that the sale will continue until the day before Eid.
