Long tailback on Dhaka-Chattogram highway

A long traffic jam has been created in Ghazaria area of Munshiganj on Dhaka-Chattogram highway covering an area of about 8 km.

The traffic jam inflicted immense sufferings on drivers and passengers travelling on the road.

Locals said the traffic jam was created after a cargo truck overturned on the Meghna Bridge at Ghazaria upazila around 7 am on Thursday (November 21).

Bhaberchar Highway Police Outpost in-charge Humayun Kabir said the traffic jam was caused due to overturning of a cargo truck loaded with yarn on Meghna Bridge. The overturned truck could not be removed from the road until the goods were removed from the truck. However, we are trying to solve the traffic jam by driving vehicles in one lane.
