Low pressure area forms over Bay
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) reported on Wednesday morning that a low-pressure area has developed over the southwest Bay and adjoining west-central Bay. They predict it will likely strengthen further.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) also anticipated rainfall or thundershowers, potentially with temporary gusty or squally winds, in numerous locations within Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions. Additionally, they expect these weather conditions in a few areas across Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions, as well as in one or two spots within Khulna and Barishal divisions, beginning at 9:00 am today.
Besides, a mild heatwave is sweeping over Sylhet division and the districts of Dhaka, Netrokona, Chattogram, Rangamati, Feni, Cox’s Bazar, Bagerhat, Jashore and Chuadanga and it may continue.
According to the BMD bulletin, day temperature may remain nearly unchanged and night temperature may rise slightly over the country. Due to the increase in moisture incursion, the discomfort may increase.
Country’s highest temperature was recorded in Bagerhat’s Mongla at 37.5 degree Celsius over 24 hours till 6 am Wednesday, and the lowest temperature was recorded in Panchagarh’s Tetulia at 22.4 degree Celsius.
In the meantime, the highest 64mm rainfall was recorded in Patuakhali.
